Hong Kong’s Sun Wah wants cooperation with Russia’s Far East
HONG KONG, May 19 (PRIME) -- Hong Kong’s Sun Wah Group is interested in cooperation with Russia’s Far East in many directions, including trade in mineral resources and seafood, the group’s Chairman Jonathan Koon-shum Choi told reporters Thursday.
“We are interested in development of business in trade in oil and natural gas, and also in diamonds. Sun Wah has been engaged in exports and imports of seafood for almost 60 years…We have discussed possibilities to purchase seafood in the region,” he said.
Part of projects that are under discussion may be implemented with attraction of China’s CITIC and Russia’s Renaissance Capital. “Our partner – CITIC – is developing cooperation with Renaissance Capital. We all could create a joint Hong Kong-based company for operations in investment banking activity and for fund management. We have all possibilities for that in Hong Kong,” he said.
He also said he plans to visit the Eastern Economic Forum in the city of Vladivostok in September and resume negotiations on the issue there.
